Chennai Express has released with a whooping response in India as well as overseas. The paid preview has broken all previous bollywood records & the film is ready to glorify the silver screen in coming days. Set amidst the picturesque regions of South India and starring Shah Rukh Khan & Deepika Padukone, will Chennai Express prove to be a mass entertainer? Has Rohit Shetty delivered his best by casting these two larger-than-life actors?
Rahul, played by SRK, embarks on a journey from Mumbai to Rameshwaram to fulfil his beloved grandfather's last wish of immersing his ashes there. On the way, he meets a South Indian lady, Meenamma, played by Deepika, who has been abducted by few lusty captors. Meena explains SRK that her father has sent these captors to bring her back to her home, in Komban village. Meena tells SRK that she busted out of her home because her father (a renowned Don) wanted her to marry to Tangaballi, played by Nikitin Dheer, against her will.
A series of hilarious events takes place in the train. The next morning, Rahul tries to escape from the clutches of these formidable captors, but to his surprise, the train has already entered the realm of Meena's father. Everything in this area is under the control of her father, including the stoppage of Chennai Express at Komban village. Nobody has the valour to go against him. Unable to decipher the Tamilian conversation between Meena and her Dad, en route to her home, Rahul asks Meena what did she tell her Dad which calmed him down. Meena explains him that, to respite from the direful situation, she had weaved a story about their love with each other and also that they wished to get married.
Reluctant to latch on to this complex situation, Rahul just wants to flee from Komban. Meena assures Rahul that they both can escape from her village at night. Can they manage to slip away from the clutches of her father's garrison and Tangaballi, the strapping don who challenges Rahul to defeat him in one-on-one fight?
Chennai Express is encrusted with an all-inclusive masala moments. From uproarious convos to gravity negating action sequences, from romantic scenes to ferocious confrontations, Chennai Express is sure to regale you till the very end.
Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly the powerhouse of Chennai Express, who carries the film on his shoulders maturely. Deepika is a surprise package who never lets you down with her first-rate South Indian accent and attire. Though the film contains one or two futile moments and a music which could've been much better, overall, the film is a complete entertainer.
The locomotive engine of Chennai Express has been given a green signal by the audience. What are you waiting for then? Embark on this humorous journey asap and witness the mighty meld of Rohit Shetty and SRK saga. For those who don't like SRK, I'd like to ask, doesn't he bring a smile to your face when he smiles, romances his ladies and tries to amuse you on the screen? I'm sure he does. SRK can, without a slightest doubt, woo each and every type of audience.
I've already boarded the express and don't wanna alight at any station...
Final verdict : GO FOR IT !
